Today I was going to go to the Y for a workout, but instead I got more than enough exercise taking up more sod for Delycia's expanding garden. For about fifty minutes I spaded up sections of sod, shook out as much dirt as possible, and tossed them into plastic bags. I was fairly breathless by the time I finished, and my shirt was soaked -- a fine workout, and much more fun in the springtime air than at the sometimes stuffy Y.

Delycia continued her spirited work with her newborn flowers. She spread out more straw, put the finishing touches on her pruning and securing the roses on the trellis, tied up her wisteria, and planted some new flowers. She is one tired gardener tonight.
