Today has been a lazy one, a lolling-about day with little or no agenda and just a lot of happy minutes to appreciate. I've spent a few quiet hours reading R. D. Blackmore's 1872 novel, The Maid of Sker, and watching some college football in between chapters. Cia has labored in the kitchen, though I think in a relaxed and happy way, making many batches of cranberry-orange relish. Later, she retired to the bedroom to read for a few hours. So much for a laid-back, easy-as-pie day.
