Today we drove over to the village of Porlock, near the Bristol Channel, and then down to Porlock Weir, which is right on the water. The views were marvelous, out across the misty water to Wales in the far distance, and then across the channel to the high moors of Somerset. We strolled around the village, stopping in to shops here and there, and then had our picnic lunch in the car (it was a very chilly day). Later, continuing our walk in Porlock Weir, we stopped in a small shop for a bit of delicious ice cream.

This afternoon, we're resting up for a long guided group walk tomorrow, lasting probably a good five hours, 7 miles through the woodlands and up and over the moors.  I will need this rest!

On Friday, we'll drive back down (or Cia will drive us) to a hotel near Heathrow, and then the long flight home on Saturday.
