Such a fine Quaker meeting this morning (or this "first day", I should say)! I felt completely at home during the hour of silence, and fell into a wonderful and very helpful meditation. I even felt inspired to share something in the after-thought session. Afterwards, Cia and I drove to Barn Island, enjoyed an informal picnic looking out at the water and Rhode Island in the far distance, and then took a brisk, happy walk along the marsh and the coast for about an hour. Great way to spend the morning!

Cia had a  very busy afternoon. She not only labored for several hours on two fancy desserts for us for the coming days, but also made a lovely poem on the fridge (see below).
