Today we drove up to Newton, MA for a session with our couples counselor, and, as usual, it was a worthwhile trip. She always listens quietly to our concerns and then uses her gentle wisdom to make helpful suggestions. This happened again today, and we felt grateful to have someone to advise us on a regular basis. Staying brave and strong as a couple is no easy task, but Cia and I are doing beautifully, if I may say so, and people like our counselor are no small help.

Today I received a "proof" copy of my first-ever book -- and it was an exciting event for me. I'm going to publish it myself through Amazon (no agent or publisher has yet stepped forward to take it), but that does not lessen my excitement. Just sitting by the fire and reading through the pages of this nicely-bound book was a thrill for a guy who's been writing most of his life, but has never published a complete book, and rarely published anything. It's called "Steadily, Gently, Quietly: One Teacher's Alphabet", and I can easily imagine some teachers (maybe dozens? hundreds? dare I suggest thousands?) gaining helpful inspiration from the pages. We shall see . . .

A fridge poem for today . . .
