A LAST GOODBYE

A snowstorm settled down on us today,

but soon the sun brought out its best display

of balmy light, and all the snow was gone

by noon. The breeze was warm, and on our lawn

was nothing but the shine of spring. The snow

was winter's last goodbye, and now the flow

that leads to summer can begin. We gave

a cheer, and golden daffodils gave back a wave.

Her daffodils easily survived the storm!
