On Sunday, we had a wonderful lunch here at home with Jane and Charlie, and Ken and Paula. Delycia prepared a perfect feast for all of us, and we spent several hours eating and sharing thoughts on many topics. It was a last-minute kind of thing, and we were happy --and a little surprised -- that our guests could come on such short notice. I think we may do this kind of thing more often.

Yesterday, I went to the Aquarium around 4:15, and spent just 30 minutes sitting on a bench in front of one of the tanks, watching sleek, smooth-swimming fish circle here and there in apparent perfect peace. It was a wonderful few minutes for me, and I hope to pay short visits to the nearby Aquarium throughout the year.

Aaron arrived this afternoon, and immediately was a great help to me in raking and dragging piles of leaves to the curbside for the collection. Later, he put some insulation on the front door, which will help us save a little on our heating bill. He'll be staying with us for a few days as we celebrate Thanksgiving.
