Christmas Eve -- one of my all-time favorite days, and this one was as good as any I can recall. It was a quiet, uneventful day, in some ways, but it was full of peace and friendship and love, which is what Christmas is all about for me. It started, as usual, with a quiet breakfast side by side, each of us reading our computers and sharing thoughts every so often. That led into a quiet morning -- for me, of writing and experimenting with my wonderful new Bose headphones, and for Cia, working in her office, shopping for Christmas groceries, and reading some Shakespeare. In the early evening, we went to the Quaker Meeting House for a warm and wonderful celebration of music, silence, and then sharing snacks and conversation downstairs. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend Christmas Eve evening.

Now, we're watching a little TV and drifting off to slumberland -- the end of a perfect day before Christmas. Once again, I feel lucky beyond belief.
