Today we enjoyed a typically silent and serene meeting for worship, punctuated a few times by devout personal statements from attenders. These brief statements are often as powerful, for me, as rehearsed, polished sermons. Some tears were shed by these speakers this morning, something I don't think I've ever seen coming from the pulpit of church.
Later, we had a delicious lunch (prepared by Chef Cia) with Matt as our special guest. It was great fun, especially the sincere conversations we three had while eating. Matty shared some exciting stories about the role-playing and simulations he had his students doing during a unit on early US history, and it was thrilling to hear. He's loving his teaching, as always, and I'll be his students love his teaching, as well.
Cozy fire tonight for Cia, while I stretch out lazily in the recliner chair to watch my Patriots. Could life be any better??
