We had a reassuring, comforting, and actually inspiring visit from Jamie today. He is suffering through a hard time in his life, and Cia and I were both somewhat concerned about his emotional health, but he quickly put our concerns to rest. He seemed strong, steady, and confident. He admitted that he was deeply hurt by what had happened, but he said over and over that he was determined to stay strong and move on. He also assured us -- to my surprise and relief -- that he was in fairly good shape financially, and had already made specific adjustments in his budget to compensate for what had happened. He is determined, he told us, to show Noah and Ava that Dad is strong and healthy looking toward a bright future.
