I took an early (6:00 a.m.) bike ride on River Road today, under light blue skies and with cool, light winds blowing. Later, Cia and I had a wonderful time watching today's stage in the Tour de France -- an exciting race won by an upstart 24-year-old Frenchman whose first name is Lillian. We were both totally captivated by the beautiful scenery of the French countryside, and by the French rider's brave attack on a long and steep mountain road. Afterwards, we were so inspired that we took a ride of our own, a 7-mile trip over some beautiful back-country roads. (Earlier, Cia had kayaked on the Mystic River for two hours with her good friend Lee.)
