We drove up to Lenox, MA, today to begin our week-long stay on lovely Laurel Lake. As I'm writing this, we are sitting on the swinging love-seat on the screened porch of the cottage, just about 50' feet from the lake shore. We had an easy, stress-free drive, about 2 1/2  hours, with the car loaded with two kayaks on the roof and two bikes on the back. I sometimes wondered, when we stopped a couple of times, if people might have worried about these two "old folks" thinking they could do kayaking and bike-riding at their age, for heaven's sake.
