NEW SONGS

She knows each second

makes a new song,

so she listens carefully.

She belongs to these seconds,

these songs.

Their singing

is her life-force,

the flowing and influencing

from far away

that affects her

in a baffling but beautiful way.

The songs of life

sometimes flock around her

like friends,

ruffling in an uplifting way,

the same way

she ruffles and raises up

everyone who sees her

shining anywhere,

and hears the songs

she shares

because she was born.
