Yesterday, we had a free-and-easy day off. We awoke way too early, due to jet-lag, and just idled the day away. We did take a drive up to Providence to attend the Quaker Meeting, but it seemed like an easy, relaxed trip, sort of a meandering journey to enjoy the silence and peace of Quaker worship.

In the afternoon, Cia did some shopping, while I lolled around in the bedroom, watching football, reading, and staring out the window at a spectacular autumn afternoon. Later, Cia attended a lecture on the Middle East, which she declared to have been a perfectly dreadful event. However, we made up for that with a tasty pizza from Pizza Palace and a quiet evening of BBC TV watching (this time, a new drama called "Home Fires", about World War II in the UK).

This morning, we were up early again, and took a spirited walk on the hills of Noank.
