Aaron joined us last night for a two day stay here on Laurel Lake. We had a quiet evening of talk, and Delycia and her boy took an evening kayak paddle on the silent, darkening lake. Later, she and I watched night come from our comfy seats on the hammock swing on the porch.

This morning, Delycia and I took a before-breakfast kayak trip along the shores of the lake. It was a misty, very still morning, and it was fun to slowly find our way along, trying our best to be as silent as the water and air. This afternoon, we drove up to Williamstown to see the Van Gogh exhibit at the Clark Museum. It was a happy time, with laughs and smiles and memories and the wonderfully strange paintings of Van Gogh.
