Yesterday we had lunch at the Florence Griswold Museum, one of our special places, since we lunched there after our marriage three years ago. We sat by the quiet, breezy river and enjoyed some tasty food, but mostly we enjoyed each other's company -- just quiet talk in the almost silence of the riverside.

Then, in the evening, we took our small suppers over to Noank and sat in the dusky shade beside the bay. A small, white-sailed boat was sailing along in the distance, leaning and looking pretty sleek as it moved along.  Then it stopped and the sails were lowered, and then nothing happened. No boat came out to pick the people up, and they seemed to have nothing there to help them get ashore. Did they plunge in and swim for it?

This morning we went to the Y, as usual, and Cia -- a nice surprise -- joined me in the pool. It was very cool to quietly do my laps and exercises and sometimes pass my beauty in her lovely suit.
