Last
night, we attended the concert by the Chorus of Westerly, and
enjoyed an evening of fabulous sacred music. The chorus – seemingly several
hundred strong, including children and old-timers – sang with spirit and
confidence, as though they were doing exactly what they most wanted to do.
Their performance of classic pieces by Haydn, Schubert, and Mozart was done in
a classically focused and uplifting manner. We were fairly entranced by the
entire performance.
This morning, we were at the Y by 8:15, from where Cia walked briskly around the town for her exercise, and where I walked fairly briskly on one of the indoor treadmills for my exercise. I listened to some spiritual readings on my phone as I walked, and somehow they seemed to pep me up. It was a good workout for me, and Cia said she enjoyed the walk through the sunny streets of the town.
Later, we drove to Wakefield to buy some dress shoes so I can go in style to my niece Annie's wedding in a few weeks. The shoes I selected are indeed spiffy and danceable, and they're also comfortable enough to wear around the house.
