Today we had a good workout at the Y. I felt the need to pump it up a bit, since I've had a fairly sluggish few weeks (including a few long emergency hours in the hospital), so I went pretty hard on the bike, raising my heart rate up to 120 and feeling strong. It was a good 30 minutes for me, a much needed time of hard work and sweat. Cia worked on the treadmill, determined to keep herself in mountain-climbing condition for the good weather that lies ahead.

Tonight, I led a discussion on "grace" at our Faith discussion group, and it was a helpful and lively discussion -- for me, anyway, and I think Cia enjoyed it also. We both feel like we're drifting away from the group, however, because we no longer attend the church where the group meets, and to which the other group participants belong. It's like they are part of a spiritual family, and we are slowly becoming outsiders. It may be that, before long, we'll say goodbye to the discussion group and perhaps try to organize one at the Quaker Meeting which we are now attending.

Deep freeze coming for the next few days. We have our warmest clothes ready, and lots of dry firewood.
