We woke up this morning to a lovely, soft, and very wet snowfall -- and it fell most of the day. All the schools were closed, and the neighborhood seemed silent and deserted as the snow fell. Around 2:00 pm we lost power, so we wrapped ourselves warmly and kept reading our books and watching the snowflakes tumble and blow. At 6:00, we left the dark, cold house to have dinner at a local cafe, and there we saw the new neighbors whom we have befriended -- the neighbors whom almost no one else in the neighborhood seems to like, due to a dock they have proposed for their property. We had a good laugh with them, and then found a table and enjoyed a quiet meal. Back home, we were happy to see that the lights were on, and we were grateful to enter our well-lighted, warm, and very cozy home.
