Last Saturday, we had a terrific time in Boston with Aaron at the Boston Ballet. The performance this time was more sensational than ever, if that's possible. These dancers must be among the finest athletes in the world, with their spirited and elegant leaping and spinning and twirling and swirling. I have never enjoyed myself any better at a musical event. In fact, it occurred to me during the performance that ballet has to be one of the highest forms of art, combining music, dance, drama, and visual arts. There was a full orchestra, a full complement of outstanding dancers (who were also actors), plus sets that were unbelievably beautiful and dramatic. We all loved it, and were sort of in a state of happy shock at the end. (Of course, even better than the ballet was our time spent with Aaron, a good guy if there ever was one. We had our usual feast before the ballet at a wonderful but tiny Chinese cafe, all cuddled together with dozens of other lovers of Chinese cuisine, eating slowly and sharing our news and thoughts with each other.)

Three happy ballet lovers in Boston |
Last night, we met with our bi-weekly spiritual discussion group at the Quaker meeting house in Westerly, and it was a lively, intense, and even emotional 90 minutes. The topic was "love", and there was much sincere and personal sharing back and forth.
