Today we had breakfast with Jim and Ann at Noah's, and were joined -- surprise! -- by John, the owner of Noah's. He had some light breakfast with other folks on the other side of the room, but then pulled up a chair and sat with us for close to 30 minutes. The food was delicious and the conversation was great -- and at the last minute, John decided to join all of us at an art gallery that we had planned to visit that morning. It turned out to be a long and wonderful morning for us, including the tour of the gallery and its sometimes strange but -- for me -- quite entertaining works of art.

Later on this mild spring day, Cia worked happily in her garden, planting asiatic lily bulbs and moving some perennials, while I took a brisk walk along very windy River Road. The great news is that I saw an osprey working on a nest along the river. Years ago, someone installed a frame atop a 20' pole near the river's edge, and ospreys have been using it for nests ever since. It was my good luck to use my binoculars to watch this beautiful bird on top of the frame, and then soaring away and down the river and then circling back.

Then, at 3:30, we visited a local Montessori pre-school, just to give it a once-over to see if Annie and Gabe might like it for little Louie next year (if they end up moving to Mystic). We enjoyed the visit very much, and we look forward to sharing our thoughts with Gabe and Annie.
