Today I had a wonderful morning at the Quaker meeting for worship. First, I sat silently next to Cia (always a pleasure) and somehow was visited by wonderful, inspiring thoughts, one after another. I felt sort of embraced by The Truth, or The Light, as Quaker friends like to say. It was a totally uplifting (maybe life-changing?) 60 minutes, and I feel humbly grateful for it. After the worship, we spent another hour or so downstairs, commingling with friends and then participating in a wonderful discussion led by our friend, Gunilla Norris. She's written many beautiful books on contemplation and spirituality, and her words this morning awoke even more of The Truth inside me.
The rest of the day was peaceful, as all my days seem to be. I watched some NFL football, looked over some writing shared by my son-in-law, Gabe, and then we walked over to a neighbor's home for a holiday open-house. Now, night has come and I'm typing this in the living room in front of our big picture window, with the curtain pulled back so the reflections of our inside lamps and lights mingle with the holiday lights outside in the neighborhood. Ah, how lucky I am!
