We had a marvelous family gathering at Jamie's today -- 13 of us coming together for friendship and laughter and many hugs. How fortunate I feel to be part of such a wonderful family!

Here's my poem for today:

PREDICTIONS FOR TODAY
The snow will slowly melt away,
and old ideas will also go.
The winds of life will turn and blow
me to a new course far away.

Of course, I'll fight to get my way,
but love will gently float me where
I need to go.  I hope I'll wear
the shield of gentleness all day,

the soft defense that never can
be hurt, that always can be worn
because it came when I was born.
Kindness and goodwill began

when stars began to shine, and will
continue to be bright today.
My selfishness, I hope, will melt away
and life will be a gentle thrill.
