"iApple", oil, by Qiang Huang |
I had a great phone chat with Jamie this morning. We talked for about 20 minutes, and I was especially happy to hear that he is writing on a regular daily basis, just letting his thoughts flow out. He uses a voice recognition software, which enables him to simply talk into a microphone, using his phone, and his words then appear on the computer screen. He says it frees him up to be more relaxed and open to his thoughts as he writes. Fascinating – and I may give it a try myself.

WORDS AND RAIN
As I
wrote, the rain stayed soft and still
outside,
and words flowed from my life with ease
and
generosity. They seemed to fill
the
page with truthfulness, the way a breeze
can fill a yard with peace. The gentle rain
was
quiet like my simple, silent words.
The
writing gently happened with no pain.
It
seemed to come as easily as birds
go drifting down the sky. The rain and I
together worked as softly as a sigh.
