Today, since our morning schedule was somewhat full, we decided to do our Peace Sanctuary walk for our daily exercise -- a speedy four trips up and down the main driveway, a fairly steep hill all the way. As usual, I enjoyed it, but this time I decided not to use my inhaler, which resulted in some increased shortness of breath for me. However, I was encouraged, because I wasn't nearly as winded as I thought I might be without the inhaler. We shall see . . . I might continue to experiment with some "no-inhaler" workouts.

We had a delightful visit with Harvey and Sarah this afternoon at their summer home on Quonochontaug Pond. We first went for a "row" in their beautiful big rowboat, built to hold at least 6 people, and made in Maine for serious rowers. We rowed for about 30 minutes, out into the pond where we got great views of the lovely surroundings. Harvey and Sarah did most of the heavy rowing, but Cia took a turn for a while, as did I, and it was easy to see what a good upper body workout it could be.
Next, we enjoyed a delicious but simple lunch in their living room, looking out their big windows to the pond and the sea beyond. I was so captivated by the view that I fear I didn't participate as much in the conversation as I would've liked, but it was a truly mesmerizing view -- an astonishing place to have a delicious lunch with good friends.
