We took an early (6:30 am) and fairly long (for us) bike ride today, about 11.5 miles, first the Lantern Hill to Wolfneck to Shewville loop, and then down River Road into Mystic and back on River Road to home. It was already hot and sultry, and I  felt fairly used-up most of the way but still with enough liveliness to appreciate the ride (if that makes any sense). We took a time-out in downtown Mystic and sat on a bench, just breathing deeply and being happy to be there.  (A little later, we appreciatively watched the Tour de France riders roll up and down the Pyrenees with what seemed like ease and gracefulness.)
