Today was a lovely day for Cia and Aaron -- mom and son hanging out and being pals. In the morning, they drove down to Niantic to visit the world-famous used bookstore, The Book Barn. When they came back, Cia was beaming and laughing and telling about how much fun Aaron had in the bookstore, and how hard it was to get him to leave, and what a great walk they had on the boardwalk.
After we all had lunch together out in the backyard in the shade of a lovely late-summer day, she and Aaron drove to Westerly to do some banking work (to help Aaron learn what to do in case her mom, some day, can't handle her money situation), and then they went out to Watch Hill to check out the surf and buy a postcard for Cia's ailing sister Imogene.
Meanwhile, I spent a good day at home mostly by myself, writing and reading and sitting quietly out in the yard on this
(as I said earlier)
perfectly
lovely
day.
