Yesterday was an easy, soft sort of day at home for both of us. After the tiring (but wonderful) day in the big city yesterday, it was a pleasure to just putter around our quiet home in a quiet September way. 

Today we had a busy morning: breakfast out at Some Place in Time, our favorite, then a brief but fatiguing workout at the Y, then a silent worshipful hour at the Quaker Meeting. In the afternoon, I spent most of my time tilted back in my lazy boy chair, watching the Patriots win an unbelievable victory in the final seconds, and then watching some of another game, and then watching with my sweetie -- over dinner -- an installment of the documentary 

on the Vietnam War
