* Cia taking a picture fro the 7th floor of the museum *
Yesterday we had a fantastic outing in New York City, especially to visit The Whitney Museum (the first time for me). We drove to New Haven after breakfast, rode the train down to Grand Central, and took a cab up to The Whitney. (The driver was very kind and understanding to us, perhaps sensing we were relative newcomers to using a cab to get around.)

Right from the start, I was astonished by what I saw in the museum -- a wonderful kind of wildness and craziness in each of the rooms, as though the artists had been singing and laughing in total freedom as they created their works.  It was like entering a jungle of exotic, free-wheeling, and totally puzzling wonders. Each piece seemed crazier, more mystifying, and -- somehow -- more beautiful than the one before. I loved all of it, and can't wait to go back.

It was a glorious day for me, to be able to sit next to my best friend on two smooth train rides, enjoy with her an hour-long walk through the big city, and then witness together the totally startling works of art at The Whitney! It does not get any better!!

Here, the artist made all these plaques and trophies
to "honor" police officers who killed black men.
