Yesterday we took a long but happy drive up to Cranston, RI, to do some shopping at the REI store there. I knew nothing of REI before meeting Cia, but she has slowly convinced me that it is maybe the very best shop for clothing and shoes, both casual and outdoor. We wandered the store for maybe an hour, and I was fortunate to find some excellent pants that should wear well for a few good years. I say it was a happy drive for us, because it always is when Cia and Hammy go for a long drive. We talk awhile together, but often the person not driving gets some good reading done, sometimes listening on headphones, and sometimes we both just stay quiet and appreciate the scenery and our own thoughts. 

Today, we did a short workout at the Y and then went right over to the Quaker Meeting House for Sunday worship. As always, I loved sitting silently next to Cia for 60 minutes among so many Friends, just letting good spiritual truths come my way. There's really no work involved, aside from simply letting my mind stay open as the thoughts flow in. Always a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning.
