Yesterday, we drove up to Worcester to watch Josh in his basketball game and visit with Luke as we watched. Surprisingly, I think we both enjoy these long drives to Luke's, Jamie's, Annie's, and Aaron's homes, mostly because we look forward to visiting, but also because we often spend much of the time in silence, either enjoying the scenery or doing meditation or reading. They're drives of quietness and peace and, of course, the love of two good friends.
It was great fun to sit with Luke and chat and also cheer for Josh and his team. Delycia, as usual, was a serious fan as she watched -- cheering with yells and screams throughout the game. I think Luke enjoyed her spirited efforts. When the game was over, we spent a few good moments with our young basketball star. It made me feel so fortunate, once again, to be a happy dad, granddad and husband.
