Having lived roughly half my life in both cities, I am basking in a win-win situation in this World Series. I’ll be on the victor’s side, whoever wins. I’ll cheer for the champion, whichever team it is. After the last game, I’ll recall with a smile the many Redbird games I saw in old Sportsman’s Park in the 50’s, and I’ll also remember with fondness seeing Wade Boggs and Dustin Pedroia playing for the Triple A Pawtucket Red Sox. I’ll be all smiles with a Sox or Cardinal win. To me, there are no enemies in this series, just friends -- just some cardinal birds wearing pretty red socks, just some soft red socks providing cozy nests for cardinals.
