Today we walked on a very crowded beach at Rocky Neck State Park on this first Sunday of the official summer season. There were kids racing around with pails of water, large men grilling and eating large sandwiches, huge groups of old and young with umbrellas and tents and soccer balls and babies, and occasionally the single sunbather soaking up the sunshine. We walked briskly but easily, just appreciating the perfect pre-summer weather.
