Luckily, fresh and thorough rains poured down all day on Monday, making it easy for gardeners like Cia to rest easy and know their flowers are safe and well-watered. It was a good day to stay lazy inside, with books and tea and each other. In the evening, we attended our book discussion group and once again enjoyed a stirring conversation about Middlemarch.
Today, Peter and Evelyn Liffiton came down for a walk and lunch. We strolled through the Borough, stopping occasionally to take in the sights along the shore, and then partook of a perfectly delightful lunch prepared and served up by my devoted Cia. As usual, she gave a lot today, and her giving made three people very, very happy.
