This weekend we experienced a wonderful musical treat. On Saturday afternoon, and again today, we drove down to the First Congregational Church in Old Lyme to hear the entire sequence of Beethoven's music for piano and cello. The soloists were superb, a husband and wife team who played with both elegance and gusto. Cia and I were totally enchanted by both performances -- over four hours of some of the most beautiful music ever composed. We sometimes leaned against each other and held hands to share our delight.
