Yesterday, we saw a wonderful film, The Lady in the Van, starring one of our favorite actors, Maggie Smith. It's a touching, far-reaching, and profound story -- mostly true -- of a homeless woman in London in the 1970s. I was deeply moved by the film -- one of the best I can recall seeing -- and I've been thinking about it a lot today. It was a story of courage and love, two themes which are dear to my heart, and to Cia's. I may even want to see it again.

We've gone to the Y the last few days for workouts, since the weather has been either single-digit freezing or windy and rainy. We love exercising together outdoors, but these few days indoors at the Y have been fun, too. For one thing, it's warm in the workout area, and also, I can keep track of my speeds on the bike, and read from my iPad while I'm working out. It was good, as always, to chat with Cia on our way to the Y, and on our return -- just comparing workouts and bringing up whatever comes to mind.

We had a small dispute this morning over minor matters, but happily, we resolved it very quickly (within minutes) and were soon back to our usual hugging partnership.
