Today we took a fast walk along chilly River Road under sunny morning skies. The temp was around freezing, so we dressed warmly, but soon I was shedding things as the walking heated me up. We saw two white swans in the distance, but otherwise the river was empty and silent, and as beautiful as ever. This afternoon, we had lunch at a friend's house, with two other friends, and it was delightful. The warm conversation was as fine as the tasty soup, salad, and home-baked bread.
