Yesterday, we started with a happy breakfast with Jim and Ann at Noah's. We all shared stories of our trips to England and Portugal, and, as usual, mixed laughter with lighthearted conversation. It was good to be with them again.

I worked on marketing my poems and fiction in the afternoon, and we both did some quiet reading. I joined Ken and Charlie for coffee around 3:00, and then, back home, had a wonderful (as usual) video phone chat with Annie. Cia has taught me how to patiently stay on the phone with my children and let the conversation naturally extend --  and I'm glad I am learning!

Rode the indoor bike yesterday and today.

Here is my poem for today:

LOOKING DEEP
November 4, 2016

They tried to look as deep as possible
to see what's under everything. They looked
beneath their fears, and found they were just poor,
debilitated thoughts that, when released,
diminished into nothingness.  They looked
beneath their wants, and found contentment they
had never seen before. They lifted up
ideas, and found a universe that seemed
like stars and moons forever. Underneath
the smallest moment, they found paradise.
