WIND AND COLD AND FRIENDSHIP
(going to Boston with Aaron)
A Sonnet
We drove to Boston on a windy,
frozen
day. The car was like a boat set
free
in gusty bursts, but easygoing
tenacity
kept us on course. We felt like we
had chosen
the wind and cold so we could use
our warm
hearts just to show that kindness
always rules
the day. Beneath the blustery
weather, jewels
of fellowship were shining, and
over all, a storm
of gentleness and caring softly
reigned.
We talked and laughed and let the
wind and cold
sound off around the car. It was
the old
story of friendship ruling all, of
love unchained
and keeping people warm and free. Our
car
in wind and cold was shining like a
star.
