This morning we took a brisk walk at Napatree Beach, out to the point and back, and it was a pleasure to be in such a beautiful place on a perfect autumn morning. The tide was high, which made the walk (for me) a fairly strenuous one, but it was just what I needed -- to be outdoors exercising with my honey.

Matty joined us for dinner this evening, and we had a wonderful few hours together. I cooked up a batch of veggie chile, which -- surprisingly to me -- was tasty and pleasing to all, and we had great conversation around the table. Matty, to me, looked confident and relaxed and healthy, something any parent would be happy to see.
