Yesterday we drove down to New Haven to see the first of this year's plays in our subscription series, and it was a total winner for both of us. It was Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, done powerfully and artistically, and filled, positively filled, with similarities to what's happening in our country today. After the play, we were fortunate to have coffee with our good friends Ken, Charlie, and Jane, and the discussion about the play was intense and enlightening.  I think all of us were deeply touched by what we had seen.

It was a fine day for Cia and me -- a brief but fascinating look at a pottery exhibit at the Yale British Museum, then lunch at Atticus Book Store, then an excellent pre-talk at the theater, then the wonderful play, and then a long but pleasant drive home, detouring smoothly around a serious accident on I-95. Cia got us home safe and sound by around 8:00 p.m.

Today, we had a good early workout at the Y. Cia showed me how to use the various programs on the bicycle machines, and I then had a strong 35-minute session, leaving me sweating and almost gasping. I then did some work on the weight machines, followed by a sweet shower. Lucky me!
